India Extends RoDTEP Export Rebate Scheme Through March 2026

The decision keeps eligibility unchanged for exporters across all existing categories, restoring near‑term policy certainty.

Overview

  • The Commerce Ministry, via a DGFT notification, extended RoDTEP benefits for eligible exports until March 31, 2026.
  • Coverage continues for shipments from the domestic tariff area, Advance Authorisation holders, Special Economic Zones, and Export-Oriented Units.
  • Existing refund rates remain in force, with rebates generally ranging from about 0.3% to 3.9% across more than 10,000 product lines.
  • FIEO welcomed the move, saying it removes uncertainty and helps exporters plan shipments while maintaining competitiveness.
  • The extension follows calls from exporters for support after reported U.S. tariff increases that they say have constrained sales in sectors such as textiles, leather, and food products.
