India Extends PM SVANidhi to 2030 With ₹7,332 Crore, Expands Credit for Street Vendors

The overhaul raises early loan limits with digital incentives to draw more vendors into formal finance.

Overview

  • The restructured scheme targets 1.15 crore beneficiaries, including 50 lakh new entrants.
  • First- and second-tranche working-capital loans rise to ₹15,000 and ₹25,000 respectively, with the third tranche unchanged at ₹50,000.
  • Vendors who repay the second loan become eligible for a UPI-linked RuPay credit card for immediate access to credit.
  • Cashback of up to ₹1,600 will promote digital transactions, and coverage will expand in phases to census towns and peri-urban areas.
  • Implementation will be led jointly by MoHUA and DFS; since 2020 the programme has disbursed over 96 lakh loans worth ₹13,797 crore and driven extensive digital payments.
