- Effective March 17, 2025, the five-year duties target imports from China, Taiwan and Russia following a Directorate General of Trade Remedies investigation.
- Aluminium foil imports now face tariffs of $479 to $721 per metric tonne, replacing provisional duties of $619 to $873 and extending protection from six months to five years.
- Acetonitrile shipments are subject to duties ranging from $202 to $481 per metric tonne, with the highest rate applied to unnamed Chinese suppliers.
- During the April 2022–September 2023 probe, Chinese aluminium foil imports surged 178% while domestic sales rose just 29%, exerting intense pricing pressure on local producers.
