Overview
- The Department of Public Enterprises said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman approved the upgrade, making NRL the 27th Navratna CPSE.
- NRL previously held Miniratna status under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and reported FY2024–25 turnover of Rs 25,147 crore and net profit of Rs 1,608 crore.
- Navratna powers allow NRL to take faster independent decisions, including investments without routine government approval up to the stated limits.
- Oil India Ltd holds 69.63% of NRL, the Assam government owns 26%, and Engineers India Ltd holds 4.37%.
