Overview
- The inaugural sleeper will run as trains 27575/27576 between Howrah and Kamakhya roughly six days a week with an overnight journey of about 14 hours.
- Departures are scheduled at 18:20 from Howrah and 18:15 from Kamakhya with arrivals around 08:20 the following morning, according to the published timetable.
- The 16-coach rake seats 823 passengers with 11 AC 3-tier, four AC 2-tier, and one First AC coach, and fares are about ₹2,300 (3A), ₹3,000 (2A) and ₹3,600 (1A).
- Designed for 180 kmph but limited to about 130 kmph on this route, the train includes Kavach protection, automatic doors, cushioned berths, improved suspension and a modern passenger information system.
- The route features commercial halts including Bandel, Katwa, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, New Cooch Behar, New Bongaigaon and Rangiya, and the launch accompanies eight Amrit Bharat Express services and two new Express trains from West Bengal and Assam.
