Overview
- The camp ran from June 25 to 29 and was organised by BMVSS Jaipur under India’s India for Humanity programme in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Kabul.
- Indian medical teams fitted around seventy-five prosthetic limbs, calipers and mobility aids for amputees affected by conflict, landmines and polio.
- The drive reinforces India’s people-centric humanitarian assistance, which has included food aid, scholarships and medical support since 2021.
- BMVSS, known for its low-cost Jaipur Foot prosthesis, has conducted 111 camps in 44 countries and served over 2.2 million beneficiaries since the 1970s.
- Afghan officials and community leaders, including Youth Minister Dr. Sahib Ahrar, are urging authorities to expand future fitment camps to reach more disabled citizens.
