India Clears Second ECMS Tranche: 17 Electronics Component Projects Worth ₹7,172 Crore

Officials signalled ongoing fortnightly approvals under ECMS alongside a new skilling framework for electronics manufacturing.

Overview

  • The ₹7,172 crore tranche is projected to deliver ₹65,111 crore in output and 11,808 direct jobs, lifting total ECMS approvals to 24.
  • New units will come up across nine states and union territories, with the largest push in multi-layer PCBs at ₹3,183 crore and annual PCB capacity expected to reach ₹12,534 crore, covering about one-third of domestic demand.
  • Jabil Circuit India in Gujarat and Zetchem Supply Chain Services in Tamil Nadu secured India’s first optical transceiver manufacturing approvals, with planned capacity exceeding current national demand by 237–250% to support exports.
  • Additional approvals span camera modules, connectors, oscillators and enclosures, with participants including Aequs, Zetwerk, Uno Minda, TE Connectivity, ASUX Safety Components and Meena Electrotech.
  • Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw urged in-house design, Six Sigma quality and swadeshi sourcing, and unveiled the ARKA-GKT1 energy‑efficient edge SoC developed by Cyient and Azimuth AI.
