India Clears 22 Electronics Component Projects Under ECMS Worth ₹41,863 Crore

The third tranche under the six-year ECMS seeks to scale high-value component manufacturing across India.

Overview

  • Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw handed approval letters on January 2 for the third tranche, taking total sanctioned projects under ECMS to 46.
  • The newly approved proposals carry projected output of ₹2,58,152 crore and are expected to create 33,791 direct jobs.
  • Manufacturing spans 11 target segments, including bare components, sub-assemblies and supply-chain inputs such as PCBs, Li-ion cells, camera modules, display modules and optical transceivers.
  • Projects will be set up across eight states—Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan—to broaden regional industrial growth.
  • Approvals include proposals from Dixon, Samsung Display Noida, Foxconn’s Yuzhan Technology India and Hindalco, with aims to strengthen domestic supply chains and cut import dependence.
