Overview
- Domestic passenger-vehicle sales reached 404,231 units in December 2025, up 25.8% year over year, while slipping about 3.2% from November.
- Maruti Suzuki sold 178,646 vehicles with roughly 37% YoY growth and placed seven models in the top ten, led by Baleno at 22,108 units.
- Mahindra finished second with 50,946 units (23% YoY), edging Tata Motors at 50,046 units (13% YoY) as both posted month-on-month declines.
- SUVs dominated model charts with Maruti’s Fronx leading at 20,706 units, followed by Tata Nexon at 19,375, with Brezza, Punch, and Scorpio also posting strong tallies.
- Kia delivered the fastest growth among major brands at 18,659 units (about 108% YoY), as manufacturers roll out early-2026 updates such as the Tata Punch facelift on January 13.
