India Approves ₹417 Crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Uttar Pradesh

The 200-acre site near Jewar Airport is designed to tap multimodal logistics to position Uttar Pradesh as a hub for electronics production.

Overview

  • The Ministry of Electronics and IT is providing ₹144 crore in central assistance while YEIDA funds the remaining project costs on the 200-acre plot.
  • Havells has committed ₹800 crore on 50 acres to manufacture domestic appliances including fans, air conditioners and lighting equipment.
  • The EMC2.0 cluster will offer plug-and-play infrastructure and shared facilities to support consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices, computer hardware and communication equipment makers.
  • The government projects the scheme will attract ₹2,500 crore in private investment and generate over 15,000 jobs by its targeted completion in January 2028.
  • Proximity to the Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Jewar International Airport is expected to lower logistics costs for domestic and global electronics firms.
