India and U.S. Warships Hold Arabian Sea Drill to Boost Interoperability

The navies cast the training as a step toward stronger cooperation ahead of November’s Quad Malabar exercise.

  • Navy spokesperson Captain Vivek Madhwal said the event was intended to enhance interoperability and strengthen maritime cooperation.
  • The session follows the Yudh Abhyas high-altitude drills in Alaska from September 1–14 that involved over 450 Indian troops.
  • Planning is underway for the Malabar naval exercise off Guam in November with India, the United States, Australia and Japan.
