Overview

• In bilateral talks on August 12, Ministers of State Sanjay Seth and Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle outlined a roadmap to deepen defence ties across multiple domains.

• The Indian side offered to host a team from Nigeria’s Defence Research and Development Bureau for joint research and development projects.
• Nigeria extended invitations for Indian defence industry delegations to visit its facilities and explore procurement and investment opportunities.
• Both sides prioritised counter-terrorism training and maritime security measures, including hydrographic surveys and anti-piracy operations, though no procurement agreements were finalised during the visit.
