Overview
- The pact was signed at the 17th Joint Working Group meeting in Tel Aviv co‑chaired by India’s Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Israel’s defence ministry director general Maj Gen (Res) Amir Baram.
- The agreement sets a unified policy framework that enables sharing of advanced technologies and promotes co-development and co-production of military systems.
- Priority areas named in the readouts include strategic dialogues, training, defence industrial cooperation, science and technology, research and development, artificial intelligence and cyber security.
- Both sides reviewed ongoing programmes, discussed future technology collaboration and operational capability enhancement, and reaffirmed a joint resolve to counter terrorism.
- The Indian delegation met Defence Minister Israel Katz and joined a panel with defence industry CEOs, while Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar held separate meetings in New Delhi with S. Jaishankar and Ajit Doval.
