India and China Agree on Roadmap to Rebuild Mutual Trust

Indian and Chinese defense ministers met in Vientiane, Laos, to discuss rebuilding mutual trust following the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus, a platform for dialogue among ASEAN nations and partners.
Both nations have completed the disengagement of troops from the last standoff points in Eastern Ladakh, resuming regular patrolling after four years.
Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also held talks at the G20 summit in Brazil, focusing on next steps in bilateral relations.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of cooperation over conflict for global peace and prosperity, urging measures to prevent future border incidents.
