India and Brazil Hold Sixth Strategic Dialogue in New Delhi

Officials focused on converting July’s ModiLula directives into concrete steps ahead of BRICS, IBSA and COP-30.

Overview

  • National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Brazil’s presidential advisor Celso Amorim in New Delhi for the sixth iteration of the Strategic Dialogue.
  • Amorim arrived with a delegation of senior Brazilian officials for follow-up consultations on the leaders’ agenda.
  • Doval and Amorim reviewed progress in defence and security, energy, rare earths and critical minerals, and health and pharmaceuticals.
  • The two sides discussed coordination in multilateral forums including BRICS, IBSA and November’s COP-30 hosted by Brazil.
  • Both parties committed to carrying forward implementation of the vision set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Amorim also held a separate meeting with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
