Overview

• Union Minister Jitendra Singh emphasized the role of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in achieving India's Viksit Bharat@2047 vision during the Annual Review Meeting of State S&T Councils.
• The meeting mapped plans to establish new Patent Information Centres in five states and considered further support for Jammu & Kashmir’s S&T Council.
• Singh urged State S&T Councils to disseminate Central government STI schemes at the grassroots level, particularly in rural and remote areas, to ensure inclusive impact.
• The Department of Science and Technology's State Science and Technology Programme (SSTP) was highlighted for providing technical and budgetary support to regional innovation ecosystems.
• Participants were encouraged to adopt peer learning and emulate successful models from other states to accelerate regional STI development.
