Nicolette Boele, an independent candidate for the Bradfield seat, apologized for making a sexualized joke to a 19-year-old hairdresser at a local salon in Gordon, Sydney.
Boele allegedly remarked, 'Your hair wash was so good and I didn’t even have sex with you,' during a visit to the Envy Room salon.
The incident was first reported on 2GB Radio and has since led to Boele being banned from the salon.
In a public statement, Boele described the comment as a poor attempt at humor, apologized, and committed to improving her conduct.
The controversy comes at a critical time in the campaign for the Bradfield seat, a traditionally Liberal stronghold now closely contested between Boele and Liberal candidate Gisele Kapterian.
