Overview
- Inapam does not pay aguinaldo directly, and only adults 60 and over who are formally hired via Vinculación Productiva receive it as a legal employment benefit.
- Under Mexico’s labor law, the minimum aguinaldo is 15 days of salary payable by December 20, while a proposal to double the amount to 30 days is being discussed but is not approved.
- To enter Vinculación Productiva, applicants must present an INAPAM credential and official ID, complete an application, attend interviews, and obtain a formal contract with a participating employer.
- The INAPAM credential is free, issued the same day in most modules, and does not expire, with replacements provided for loss, damage, or changes to personal data.
- Receiving the Pensión del Bienestar does not grant aguinaldo, and volunteer or informal placements linked to the program do not generate statutory benefits.
