IMSS to Open 10 Hospitals in 2025 as Construction Begins on Nine More

The initiative pairs Sedena-backed construction with service upgrades such as universal hemodialysis.

Overview

  • IMSS said HGR No. 2 in Ciudad Juárez and the first stage of the Ensenada hospital are already serving patients.
  • The rebuilt HGR No. 25 Zaragoza in Iztapalapa is in equipment testing and slated to begin operations in October.
  • Puebla’s San Alejandro hospital will open in October with added services including hemodialysis, chemotherapy and a breast clinic.
  • Tuxtla Gutiérrez’s HGZ “14 de Septiembre” is scheduled to expand operations in September, with outpatient and rehabilitation areas already active.
  • Hidalgo’s HGZ in Tula de Allende, which replaces a facility lost to 2021 flooding, is planned to reach full operation by December after a capacity expansion.
