Overview
- Starting December 1, insured nationals living outside Mexico will be able to book remote family medicine appointments in the IMSS Digital app.
- IMSS says 2,873 family medicine nurses will staff the service, with appointment windows from 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and 07:30 to 20:30 on weekends.
- Since 2021, 15,375 people abroad have enrolled as Personas Trabajadoras Independientes, most of them men (62%) with an average age of 57 and a base wage near 389 pesos per day.
- Enrollment can be completed online via www.gob.mx/personas-trabajadoras-independientes, and affiliates receive the five IMSS insurances plus a free medical orientation line at 800 222 2668 available daily from 08:00 to 20:00.
- IMSS reports 13,921 enrollees had prior weeks on record and 1,321 now receive a pension, with 14,705 beneficiaries added and the most enrollments concentrated in Chihuahua, Nuevo León and Jalisco.
