Overview
- Two facilities are already serving patients: HGR No. 2 in Ciudad Juárez and the first stage of the Ensenada hospital, whose second phase is being built by military engineers.
- Puebla’s San Alejandro hospital is slated to open in October with 282 beds, six operating rooms and new services including hemodialysis, chemotherapy and a breast clinic, with infrastructure finished and equipment installation pending.
- Mexico City’s HGR No. 25 Zaragoza, rebuilt after the 2017 earthquake, is in medical equipment testing and scheduled to begin operations in October with 278 beds and 35 specialties.
- All new IMSS hospitals will offer in‑house hemodialysis, bringing a previously outsourced service under direct provision.
- Additional 2025 activations include Tula de Allende reaching full capacity by December, a Guanajuato HGZ with ICU and chemotherapy, Tuxtla Gutiérrez’s “14 de Septiembre” unit starting in September, the Materno Infantil in Ciudad del Carmen opening in October, and new capacity in Navojoa and Hermosillo.
