Overview

  • The specialty hospital began operations on August 4, 2025, as the latest addition to the federal IMSS-Bienestar expansion strategy.
  • The 2,300-million-peso facility was financed by proceeds from the presidential plane sale and budget allocations under the Fourth Transformation agenda.
  • The six-building, 32,432 m² campus houses 150 beds, 25 specialty consultorios, three operating rooms, a roster of 46 medical specialists and advanced imaging equipment.
  • Built by military engineers, the hospital will serve over 1.2 million residents across 109 municipalities in Oaxaca and Veracruz that previously lacked specialist care.
  • The inauguration marks a key step toward the government’s target of opening 31 hospitals and 12 clinics nationwide by the end of 2025 to boost equitable access.
