Overview

  • High‐profile Republicans and business executives have received texts and calls from someone claiming to be Susie Wiles.
  • The impersonator continued outreach even while Wiles was traveling overseas with former President Trump.
  • The FBI has informed the White House that it does not believe a foreign government is behind the scheme.
  • Investigators say the attacker drew on contact lists obtained when Wiles’s personal phone was compromised in August 2024.
  • Recipients flagged broken grammar, unusual formality and at least one request for a cash transfer as signs of deception.
