• Beginning Aug. 18, the agency will post activities of every active imperial family member to its official Instagram account, excluding the retired Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.
• The kunaicho_jp account, launched in April 2024, reached about 2.06 million followers by Aug. 18.
• The new schedule allows same-day uploads for the Emperor and Empress, monthly compilations for other royals and ad-hoc reports of foreign official visits.
• On Aug. 22, the Emperor and Empress will hold a court tea party at the Imperial Palace to receive spouses of leaders attending the Tokyo International Conference on African Development.
• Princess Aiko, the Akishino couple (Prince Fumihito and Princess Kiko), Princess Kako and Princess Hanako are expected to attend the reception.
