  • The weather systems begin influencing conditions from January 20, with activity peaking January 22–24 and easing around January 25.
  • Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are set for light to moderate rain and snowfall, with isolated heavy precipitation in Kashmir on January 22–23 and higher reaches of Himachal on January 23.
  • Rainfall is forecast to extend to the northwest plains, covering Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh and parts of Rajasthan mainly between January 22 and 25, with east Uttar Pradesh likely on January 23–24.
  • Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are expected, with 40–50 km/h gusts over Jammu & Kashmir on January 23 and 30–40 km/h over parts of the plains from January 22 to 24.
  • Dense to very dense fog is likely over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the next two to three days, and the northeast monsoon has ceased over the southeast peninsula from January 19.
