Overview
- The India Meteorological Department placed a depression over the Strait of Malacca moving west then west‑northwest, with a high likelihood of intensifying into cyclonic storm Senyar within 48 hours.
- A separate low‑pressure area has formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal near south Sri Lanka/Comorin and is forecast to become a well‑marked low in 24 hours and a depression thereafter, with an additional Arabian Sea circulation also noted.
- Forecasts call for heavy to very heavy rain across Tamil Nadu Nov. 25–27 and again Nov. 28–30, Kerala and Mahe Nov. 24–26, Andaman & Nicobar Nov. 25 and 29 with very heavy Nov. 26–28, and coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam Nov. 29–30.
