IMD Issues Weather Warnings Across India

Unseasonal rainfall expected due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, with severe impacts in Mumbai, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.

  • The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in Mumbai between 25 and 27 November, issuing a yellow alert in coastal areas of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
  • IMD has also predicted rainfall in south Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh till next week, and issued a yellow alert in Thane, Palghar, and Raigad.
  • Unseasonal rainfall is expected due to the formation of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, with a yellow alert issued for November 26-28 across Maharashtra.
  • In Tamil Nadu, heavy rainfall has led to the closure of all schools in Chennai, and a thunderstorm warning has been issued for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
  • Himachal Pradesh may witness rain and snowfall at isolated places from November 26, with a yellow warning of thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places on November 27.
