- Rain began across Himachal Pradesh on October 5, with reports of light snowfall on higher reaches of Kangra, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, and Kinnaur.
- An orange alert is in place for October 6 in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Lahaul and Spiti for hail, heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning, with gusts of 40–50 km/h.
- Yellow warnings were issued statewide for October 5 and for October 7 in Una, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Kinnaur, and Lahaul and Spiti.
- The Met Office forecasts light to moderate rain at most places with isolated heavy spells on October 6–7 and at a few locations on October 7–8.
- Temperatures are likely to drop by 2–3°C over the next three to four days, and the weather department has advised caution during storms.
