IMD Issues Orange Alert for Coastal Andhra Pradesh Amid Heavy Rain Forecast

IMD has issued an orange alert for coastal Andhra Pradesh, forecasting heavy rains due to anti-cyclonic circulation.
Rain and hailstorms are predicted in Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, with scattered to widespread rainfall expected across central and southern India.
Northeast and North India will also experience light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms from March 18th to 23rd.
Isolated hailstorms are possible in Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, with heavy rainfall expected in some regions on March 20th.
Precautions are advised to mitigate damage from hailstorms and strong winds, including staying indoors and avoiding travel.
