IMD Forecasts Thunderstorms for Delhi-NCR Today as Yamuna Remains Above Danger Mark

Authorities are monitoring Yamuna flows for possible fluctuations over the next two days.

  • IMD projects light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at isolated places across Delhi, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh and parts of Rajasthan on Saturday.
  • Temperatures in Delhi are likely to hover near a minimum of 24°C and a maximum of 34°C with scattered showers expected in several localities.
  • The Yamuna stood at 206.47 metres at the Old Railway Bridge on Saturday morning, remaining above the 205.33-metre danger level.
  • Barrage reports logged 50,629 cusecs from Hathnikund and 117,260 cusecs from Wazirabad at 9 am, with releases typically taking 48–50 hours to reach Delhi.
  • Relief tents were deployed in low-lying zones such as Mayur Vihar, Kashmere Gate and the Delhi–Meerut Expressway, and air quality stayed in the satisfactory category.
