Overview
- The MoD-controlled Salisbury Plain village, evacuated in 1943, will open on April 4–5 via the volunteer-run ImberBus from Warminster.
- A further single-day opening is scheduled in August, with vintage buses operating and no advance reservations or advance ticket sales.
- Officials warn visitors to remain within permitted areas because of unexploded ordnance, and trespass may lead to prosecution.
- St Giles’ Church, restored in 2008 and run by volunteers, is the only building routinely accessible to the public on open days.
- Amenities are extremely limited, with no shops, permanent toilets, electricity, or mobile phone signal reported on site.
