• Walt Disney Imagineering filed two Notice of Commencement permits on August 11 to install construction trailers beside the future Encanto attraction and at a backstage complex near Expedition Everest.
• Both permits list Whiting-Turner as contractor, a firm known for major Disney projects such as EPCOT’s overhaul, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and TRON Lightcycle Run.
• The trailer installations are being interpreted as preparatory work ahead of heavier construction for the Encanto ride building.
• The Boneyard play area is scheduled to close on September 2, 2025, as part of the phased dismantling of DinoLand U.S.A.
• The DINOSAUR attraction is expected to remain open through the end of 2025 with no official closing date, and Disney aims to complete the Tropical Americas/Pueblo Esperanza project by 2027.
