ILT20 Confirms Oct. 1 Auction While Flagging Possible UAE Player Absences
Franchises must factor a potential clash with the UAE national side into their auction plans because selected UAE internationals could miss parts of the November–December season.

- The league set the Season 5 player auction for October 1 in Dubai and told teams on September 29 that some UAE internationals may be unavailable if the national side reaches the ODI World Cup Qualifier playoffs.
- A 200‑player pool from 23 countries will be available at auction, with top names such as Babar Azam, Faf du Plessis, Liam Livingstone and Wanindu Hasaranga listed in the top price bracket.
- Squad rules force teams to sign 18–23 players and meet minimum nationality quotas including at least four UAE players, four Afghanistan players and one Irish player, plus required slots for Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
- Franchises start with a base auction purse of USD 1.3 million plus any unused pre‑auction funds and may use one Right‑to‑Match on eligible UAE players, while withdrawals by Matheesha Pathirana, Michael Bracewell and Sonny Baker remove some replacement options.
- Because replacements must come from the registered auction pool, teams with larger purses and planning tools will need contingency plans to cover possible mid‑tournament absences and to ensure matchday quota requirements are met.
