Illinois Teacher Charged With Sexually Assaulting 15-Year-Old Student

Christina Formella, a special education teacher and soccer coach, faces multiple felony charges after allegations surfaced from text messages discovered by the victim's mother.

Christina Formella, 30, was arrested on March 16, 2025, and charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of criminal sexual assault.
The allegations stem from a December 2023 tutoring session during which Formella allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old student in a classroom before school hours.
The victim's mother uncovered incriminating text messages on her son's phone, which detailed a sexual relationship and led to the police report on March 15, 2025.
Formella has denied the allegations, claiming the student fabricated evidence by sending texts to himself from her phone to blackmail her.
Following her arrest, Formella was placed on paid administrative leave and released under conditions barring her from contact with minors and entry to the school.
