Illinois Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Estranged Wife

Pierre J. French, 36, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder following the stabbing death of his estranged wife, DreAnna D. Booker, 33.
Elgin police discovered Booker deceased from multiple stab wounds at her residence on Bluff City Boulevard early Saturday morning.
French, who shared the address with Booker, was arrested shortly after the incident without resistance and is being held in Kane County Jail.
Court records reveal the couple had filed for divorce in May, and Booker had previously sought but later withdrew an emergency protection order in July.
French's next court appearance is scheduled for December 18, as authorities continue their investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack.
