Illinois Man Arrested for Punching Election Judge at Polling Station

Daniel Schmidt, 24, was arrested for allegedly punching a 74-year-old election judge at an Orland Park polling station.
The incident occurred when Schmidt attempted to cut in line and refused to follow instructions to wait his turn.
Schmidt faces two counts of aggravated battery to a victim over 60 and two counts of aggravated battery in a public place.
Additional charges include five misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and one count of disorderly conduct.
Bystanders restrained Schmidt until police arrived, and he was held without bond pending a court hearing.
