  • Jennifer Kouchoukos, a 51-year-old babysitter from Naperville, Illinois, is accused of stabbing two young girls, aged 1 and 4, multiple times in their backs and chests.
  • The incident occurred on November 17, when police responded to a suicide attempt report at the girls' home in DuPage County.
  • Upon arrival, police found a gruesome scene with the children and Kouchoukos covered in blood, and several blood-stained knives, an empty bottle of wine, and a nearly empty bottle of rum were found at the scene.
  • The girls were initially taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Comer Children's Hospital in Chicago, where they are recovering from their injuries.
  • Kouchoukos has been charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery to a child under 13, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and was denied pretrial release by a judge.
