Illegal Immigrant Charged in Murder of Massachusetts Sandwich Shop Owner

Eric Dionida German-Pena, accused of killing Ilias Mavros, entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 and is now in custody awaiting trial.

Eric Dionida German-Pena, a 25-year-old illegal immigrant from the Dominican Republic, has been charged with the murder of Ilias Mavros, a sandwich shop owner in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Mavros, known as Louie, was found dead in his home on February 3 with signs of trauma in what authorities suspect was a home invasion robbery.
German-Pena, who entered the U.S. illegally in September 2022, was arraigned on February 6, pleaded not guilty, and is being held without bail.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged an immigration detainer, aiming to take custody of German-Pena after the criminal proceedings conclude.
Mavros, a beloved community member and entrepreneur, had opened Crazy Buzzy’s Roast Beef just four months ago, and his family plans to continue running the business in his memory.
