Overview
- The 120th Il Lombardia starts in Bergamo on Saturday, Oct. 10, and organizers expect a roughly five-hour race with live coverage beginning at 4:35 a.m. ET and the race due to roll at 5:00 a.m. ET.
- Tadej Pogačar will miss the race while he recovers from surgery after a season-ending crash at the Vuelta España, ending his five-year winning streak at this Monument.
- The start list features a wide set of contenders led by world champion Brandon McNulty and riders such as Remco Evenepoel, Paul Seixas, Richard Carapaz, Lenny Martinez and Tom Pidcock, creating multiple tactical scenarios on the climbs.
- The 239 km course includes nine climbs and about 4,600 m of elevation gain and finishes with the steep San Fermo della Battaglia and the Civiglio in the final 30 km that are expected to decide the race.
