Overview

  • Both Aintree and Stockport Plan and Order Points will cease trading on June 16, 2025, after roughly two years of operation.
  • IKEA says ‘valuable learnings’ from these trial sites revealed strong customer preference for click-and-collect and in-store return services.
  • Remaining UK Plan and Order Points in Dundee, Hull, and York will be reconfigured to offer compact homeware displays alongside click-and-collect.
  • Shoppers can collect orders at nearby Tesco locations or visit larger IKEA outlets such as Warrington and Ashton-under-Lyne for full services.
  • The move follows Ikea’s recent launch of its Oxford Street city store and precedes a planned small-format outlet in Chester later this year.
