Ikea Announces 21 Matter-Compatible Smart-Home Devices

The lineup works across major ecosystems through the Matter standard.

Overview

  • Ikea’s refresh spans lighting, sensors and control hardware, with all products designed for multi-platform Matter integration.
  • The Kajplats lighting range introduces twelve bulbs across E27, E14 and GU10 sockets with white-spectrum or RGB options and outputs up to 1,521 lumens.
  • Five sensors are named and defined: Myggspray (motion), Myggbett (door/window), Timmerflotte (temperature/humidity), Alpstuga (air quality) and Klippbok (water leak).
  • Control devices include the Grillplats smart plug and Bilresa remotes in button and dial variants, with additional color-set bundles.
  • A Matter-capable hub is required; Ikea recommends the €60 Dirigera, which can also bridge older Ikea gear, while devices can be controlled via other Matter controllers such as Echo, Apple TV or Google hardware, and Ikea has not specified the radio protocol, which reporters suggest is likely Thread, with local pricing and launch dates still unannounced and early 2026 cited in industry reporting.
