Overview
- The exam will run as two compulsory computer-based papers on May 17, with Paper 1 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and Paper 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
- Only the top 2.5 lakh performers in JEE Main 2026 will be shortlisted under a fixed category-wise distribution with PwD reservation applied horizontally.
- Eligibility rules include birth on or after October 1, 2001 (five-year relaxation for SC, ST and PwD), a maximum of two attempts in two consecutive years, and first Class XII appearance in 2025 or 2026.
- Question papers will be available in English and Hindi, and IIT Roorkee will publish the exam-city list and information brochure on the official portal.
- JEE Main 2026 runs January 21–30 for Session 1 and April 1–10 for Session 2, and JEE Advanced qualifies candidates for roughly 18,160 IIT seats based on last year’s intake.
