IIT Roorkee Declares JEE Advanced 2026 Results; Shubham Kumar Tops With 330/360

The announcement launches JoSAA counselling for roughly 18,951 BTech seats and makes final IIT admission contingent on board-percentage eligibility

Overview

  • IIT Roorkee released the JEE Advanced 2026 result late on May 31 and made final answer keys and scorecards available on the official portal from June 1.
  • Shubham Kumar of the IIT Delhi zone secured All India Rank 1 with 330 out of 360 marks while Kabeer Chhillar and Jatin Chahar from the same zone took second and third.
  • A total of 56,880 candidates qualified from 179,694 who sat both papers, including 10,107 women, the highest number of female qualifiers reported.
  • Qualified candidates have been asked to register for JoSAA 2026 counselling but final admission will depend on meeting percentage-related rules or top-20-percentile criteria in Class XII as set in the information brochure.
  • Competition remains intense because about 56,880 qualifiers will vie for roughly 18,951 BTech seats across 23 IITs, meaning many successful candidates will not secure an IIT place during counselling.
