Overview
- IIT Madras announced Friday that GOAPS registration will open on August 27, 2026, delaying the original August 14 start and extending the regular deadline to September 27 and the late-fee deadline to October 5.
- The institute published the full revised timeline including exam dates on February 6–7, 13–14 and 20–21, 2027, city allotment on January 4, 2027, an application correction window from October 14–21, 2026, and results on March 19, 2027.
- Indian applicants must use DigiLocker for document verification and complete a live facial check on the GOAPS portal, steps that candidates are advised to complete before registration opens to avoid delays.
- GATE 2027 adds a new Robotics and Automation paper and includes syllabus and paper-code updates for several existing subjects while keeping the exam usable for MTech, PhD admissions and some PSU recruitments.
- Candidates should ready their DigiLocker accounts, ID documents and fees (regular fees range from ₹900 to ₹1,800 per paper with a ₹500 late fee for the extended window) and watch gate2027.iitm.ac.in for the GOAPS launch and admit-card notice.
