Overview
- IIT Madras opened applications Monday for the October 2026 School Connect cohort and set September 30 as the last date to apply with courses starting October 5.
- The programme has been expanded this year to include Class 9 students so younger learners can explore options before choosing higher-secondary streams.
- Each course runs eight weeks, combines pre-recorded lectures, live sessions, assignments and computer-based assessments, and successful students receive an IIT Madras CODE e-certificate.
- Courses are currently delivered in English and Hindi and the institute is developing modules in seven additional regional languages to widen access.
- School Connect has partnered with over 4,900 schools and reached about 175,000 students so far, and top-performing schools may receive campus visits as the programme scales toward its 25,000-school target.
