IIT Madras Opens Applications for Web-Enabled MTech and PG Diplomas

The push expands access to advanced engineering study for people who want to keep working.

Overview

  • Applications are now open for IIT Madras’ web-enabled MTech and PG Diploma programmes, with a May 31 deadline at code.iitm.ac.in/webmtech.
  • Entrance tests will be held in June and July 2026, and selected students will begin classes in August or September 2026.
  • For MTech, candidates need a relevant academic background plus at least two years of work experience, while the PG Diplomas accept graduates including freshers.
  • Courses use live online sessions often in the evenings or on weekends, emphasize project-based learning tied to real workplace problems, and assess learners through continuous evaluation, remote-proctored tests, and end-semester exams at designated centers in India.
  • Learners can start with a PG Diploma and later move to an MTech if eligible, and the program already counts about 1,200 active learners and more than 500 graduates.
