Overview

  • The new Science Olympiad Excellence (ScOpE) category will allow admissions outside the JEE framework for students with notable achievements in Olympiads.
  • Two supernumerary seats will be added to each undergraduate program, with one seat exclusively reserved for female candidates.
  • Eligible candidates must meet the same educational and age criteria as JEE applicants and must not have previously been admitted to an IIT.
  • Admissions under ScOpE will be based on a rank list determined by performance in five Olympiads: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Informatics, and Biology.
  • Applications for the ScOpE category will open on June 3, 2025, through a dedicated IIT Madras portal, separate from the Joint Seat Allocation Authority system.
