Overview
- Online abstracts for Round 1 are due November 30, 2025, with results posted on the YIP portal and emailed to selected teams.
- Shortlisted groups convene at IIT Kharagpur for semifinals on January 3, 2026 and finals on January 4, 2026, presenting working models for evaluation by faculty.
- Participation is open to Classes 8–12 in two- or three-student teams with a school mentor and a coordinating teacher handling submissions.
- Entries must align with one of five themes: Food Security, Technology for the Specially-Abled, Sustainability and Environment, Innovations in Education, or Affordable Healthcare hardware.
- Fees are Rs 400 per member for Indian schools, $20 for SAARC (excluding India) and $30 for non-SAARC, and Round 2 proceeds only if at least ten teams qualify from Round 1; IIT faculty mentorship is available to promising teams after the competition.
