IIT JAM 2026 Registration Closes Today as IIT Bombay Sets 11:59 PM Cut-Off

The exam is the common gateway to IIT postgraduate science programmes, offering roughly 3,000 seats across the system this cycle.

Overview

  • Applications must be submitted online via the JOAPS portal (joaps.iitb.ac.in/jam2026.iitb.ac.in) by 11:59 PM on October 20, with no acceptance of late forms.
  • Fees are ₹1,000 for one paper and ₹1,350 for two for female/SC/ST/PwD candidates, and ₹2,000 for one and ₹2,700 for two for all others.
  • The computer-based test is scheduled for February 15, 2026 in forenoon and afternoon sessions, covering seven papers with MCQ, MSQ and NAT formats, and candidates may appear in one or two papers.
  • A paid correction window runs until November 10, allowing changes to category, gender, examination city or date of birth for ₹300, and adding or changing test papers for ₹300.
  • Admit cards will be released on January 5, 2026, and the cycle includes about 3,000 seats across 22 IITs with three new offerings: an integrated PhD in Sustainable Energy Engineering, an MSc in Economics, and an MSc–PhD dual degree in Chemistry.
