Overview
- Candidates must apply online via gate2026.iitg.ac.in by October 6 for the regular window or by October 9 with a late fee.
- Application fees are ₹1,000 per paper for female/SC/ST/PwD and ₹2,000 for others in the regular window, rising to ₹1,500 and ₹2,500 in the late window.
- GATE 2026 will be held on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026 in two shifts per day, with results scheduled for March 19, 2026.
- IIT Guwahati said core papers CE, EC, EE, GE, GG, IN, ME and PI will not be scheduled on February 8 to prevent overlap with UPSC ESE.
- This edition features 30 test papers with a new Energy Science (XE-I) option under Engineering Sciences, and eligible applicants include graduates and third-year students across disciplines with no age limit.
